For every race outside Boodles’ May Festival, there is a Best Turned Out prize of £50.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd horse will be led back into the Winners Enclosure. All others are to unsaddle on the course, where there is a team to assist with washing down/cooling post-race.

The racecourse is just a 5 minute walk to City Centre – head straight up the hill from the Holiday Inn Express.
Chester really comes alive during racing – so there will be plenty of people about and a great atmosphere in the city.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink, from quirky bars on Watergate Street to restaurants in the rows on Bridge Street. We recommend Commonhall St. Social as a great place for an evening drink on their outdoor terrace! If you don’t fancy the City Centre, there are also various places down at the riverside.
