County Long Room - Chester Racecourse

County Long Room ticket holders may enter the Tattersalls Enclosure, County Concourse, County Champagne Bar, County Long Room and Paddock.

The Paddock is the heart of the racecourse where the Parade Ring is located. Here you can see the horses parade before each race, you can see the winning horse return after each race and watch the presentation ceremony in person each time. County Long Room also gives its ticketholders a wide variety of choice when it comes to where to spend the day. There are a large number of bars on both sides of the track which ticketholders can access, including on the Pavilion Lawn. The Pavilion Lawn is a lively part of the racecourse with track-side seating, pop-up bars, specialist food units and a resident DJ.

Not to miss – Head to the Parade Ring for the best view of the horses prior to racing. The best view of the race is from the County Stand seat. County Long Room badge holders also have access to The Walls Bar and terrace.

County Long Room badges holders are free to use the seat in the County Stand for premium race viewing. These are reserved for the Boodles May Festival only and can be booked by contacting the Box Office. There is also seating available in the County Long Room, Walls Bar, County Champagne Bar, Paddock area and Pavilion Lawn on the inside of the track.

There is full cover in the County Stand, County Long Room as well as in the Paddock and County Champagne Bar. Racegoers are entitled to bring an umbrella with them into the County Long Room for personal cover when outside.

County Long Room badge holders have access to premium race viewing from the County Stand seats. For an up close view of the horses prior to racing, head to the Pre-Parade Ring to watch them being saddled up. The Pavilion Lawn and outside Refill and County Lawn are also great locations to view the action.

The presentation for the winning horse also takes place in the Winners Enclosure, located in the Parade Ring.

On race days, all guest car parking is on a designated area of the Open Course.

Car parking can be purchased in advance via our website when booking your tickets, or on the day by card only. On arrival, stewards will direct you from the road outside the racecourse, right up until you park your car in its space.

Guests are politely asked not to leave their cars on-site overnight and are reminded that all property and valuables are left at the owner’s risk.

No form of furniture i.e. chairs, gazebo’s etc. are permitted in the County Long Room.

Access gates are located on ground level with paved, hard floors. The County Long Room is on the second floor of the County Grandstand. If you need assistance in reaching the County Long Room, please visit the Accessibility Hub in the Holiday Inn Car Park on arrival where trained stewards will assist you. The County Long Room itself is a flat, carpeted, large room.

There is an accessible viewing platform in the Dee Stand (which County Long Room ticket holders can access).

The County Long Room enjoys its own private bar for ticketholders only, ensuring quick service and a wide variety of choice. There is also an even wider choice of food/drink vendors on the other side of the track in the Paddock area and on the Pavilion Lawn. Chester Racecourse now operates on a ‘cashless’ basis at all food and drink outlets. Cash may still be used when placing bets with all on-course bookmakers.

We accept all major debit/credit cards and Apple/Android Pay at all our food and drink outlets. Contactless payment is also accepted up to the value of £100. There are no ATM machines on the racecourse, the nearest ATM machines are located on Watergate Street and Eastgate Street in Chester City Centre.

There are dedicated official racecard vendors as well as bookmakers in the County Long Room on every fixture.
