Following an extensive recruitment process, Chester Race Company is delighted to announce the appointment of Julie Harrington as a Non-Executive Director. Julie will replace Charles Barnett, who will step down from the Board at this year’s Annual General Meeting.
A highly respected figure in British sport and business, Julie brings a wealth of experience from horse racing, leisure, travel and hospitality. Most recently she served as Chief Executive of the British Horseracing Authority, guiding the sport through a period of significant change and development.
Julie’s passion for horse racing is complemented by her extensive commercial expertise. Prior to leading the BHA, she was CEO of British Cycling where she drove commercial success and strategic growth. She also previously held senior roles at The Football Association and Northern Racing Group, giving her hands-on experience in racecourse management and operations.
Julie will officially take up her role on 1st April 2025, following an initial induction period.
